Welcome!

Welcome to my High School Physics course! I am looking forward to meeting you all and engaging in an exciting year of learning about physics. Not only will we focus on the concepts and math related to the physical world around us, but also on forming a basis for high-order thinking to help us solve problems and understand science practices.

My goal throughout the year is to help you, my students, to develop and practice higher order thinking while connecting our units to contemporary issues and everyday life. I am here to encourage you to study and be active participants in class. Between labs and our flipped classroom, I plan on keeping everyone engaged and ready for discussion everyday. I personally prefer a flipped classroom as I believe it allows the students to have more control on how they learn. Our classroom will be a safe environment physically, intellectually, and emotionally.

The following pages outline the syllabus for this course that we will be maintaining for this school year. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions/concerns and feel free to write me a letter about yourself as a student if you think it would help me get to know you better. Getting to know my students is the best part of my job, so I look forward to meeting you soon!
